In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, cybersecurity is paramount to safeguarding sensitive data. At Fort, we prioritise the security and safety of our clients' information through proactive measures and cutting-edge technologies like AI-powered cybersecurity solutions. When adopting new technologies, we must also stay up to date with the emerging cyber threats that digital advancement poses.
Staying ahead of the curve requires a proactive approach to identifying, mitigating and adapting to evolving risks. At Fort, we have put several measures in place to ensure we sustain security at the highest possible level.
We have utilised an external Virtual Chief Information Security Officer, which provides our stakeholders with peace of mind that cyber and information security continues to be a priority. We have a dedicated team working to recognised industry standards who work proactively and stay on top of the latest advancements.
An important part of staying ahead is staying on top of your current data. It is important to undertake a monthly analysis of incidents, blocked attacks and near misses and complete regular vulnerability scanning. It is also key to utilise new technology. Fort has proactively trialled AI-powered cybersecurity to protect Endpoints in real-time. As AI becomes more intelligent, we will see it being used more in both future cyber-attacks and in efforts to minimise these attacks.
With AI technology exponentially advancing, cybercrime is becoming increasingly sophisticated. While it can be difficult to keep up, doing so is critical. According to the National Cyber Security Centre, AI systems are susceptible to flaws such as AI hallucination, bias and vulnerability to manipulation, making them potential vectors for cyber-attacks. AI-powered attacks now account for 51% of reported attack methods as highlighted by IT leaders in the Keeper Security Insight Report.
It is essential for businesses to implement robust measures, conduct audits and provide training to counter threats in order to ensure security and safety for clients. At Fort, we provide regular phishing simulations and monthly online training for our staff to ensure the whole team stays informed with up-to date knowledge. We also run annual training which focuses on major changes to the cyber security landscape and looks at how it has evolved for the year ahead.
Our team also takes part in incident response exercises, covering different scenarios to ensure key staff understand the information and cyber risks that the organisation is exposed to; and that those key staff know how to respond when incidents or breaches occur. When it comes to securing client data trust and integrity is paramount. Investing the time in ensuring the cybersecurity function of your organisation is performing at the highest possible standard is non-negotiable.
Addressing knowledge gaps is crucial. With the rapid creation and development of AI and emerging technologies, not everyone is going to be an expert in every new software, risk or cybersecurity niche. Understand where your organisational gaps in knowledge are and take proactive steps to address the ones most relevant to your company and clients.
With dedicated time and a human-led workforce that utilises new technology your organisation can stay ahead in cybersecurity. While the AI landscape is constantly shifting and evolving, we are still able to find balance in the human factor. Outline your principles, share them with your team, invest in training time, employ external assistance when needed and ensure everyone in your organisation is equipped with the knowledge and tools to tackle cybersecurity risks.
